Vincent Norrman won the 2023 Barbasol Championship after recording a 22-under 266. The 25-year-old defeated Nathan Kimsey in a one-hole playoff and claimed the first win of his PGA Tour career. Norrman went up and down to secure a par during the lone playoff hole. He earned his win after Kimsey missed a short putt and was forced to tap in for a bogey.
Adrien Saddier and Trevor Cone finished the tournament T3 after they recorded a 21-under 267. Despite carding four birdies and zero bogeys during his final round, Lucas Glover dropped the lead and finished in fifth place at 20-under 268.
The PGA Tour shared Vincent’s triumph on Twitter.
Tournament Recap
Despite starting outside the top 100 in the world golf rankings, Lucas Glover put together a magnificent round one. Eight birdies and one eagle saw him sitting in solo first place at 9-under par. Ryan Moore orchestrated a bogey-free round and drained eight birdies. Moore ended day one tied for second place at 8-under par.
Although he got off to a slow start on Thursday, David Ravetto put together an impressive round two. Ravetto carded four birdies and two eagles. To make his Friday extra sweet, he was also able to avoid a bogey. Trevor Cone’s five birdies and two eagles helped earn him a 7-under par on Friday.
To get the weekend play kicked off, Trevor Cone kept his foot on the gas. Cone locked in a bogey-free round three, complemented by nine birdies. This 9-under-par performance tied for the best single-round score for this year’s tournament.
Even though he did not get the outcome that he wanted, Nathan Kimsey played a phenomenal final round. Kimsey was able to avoid a single bogey and made six birdies and one eagle. His fourth-round score of 8-under par was good enough to earn him a spot in a playoff with Vincent Norrman.
Norrman’s victory earned him a $684,000 share of the purse, along with 300 FedExCup points.
