Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, also known to more people as CSGO has been one of the most beloved shooters of all time. It was released back in 2012 by Valve, the same company that owns Steam and made classic games such as Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead and Dota. Many people have felt like CSGO was falling a bit behind with all the new games coming out. This has made fans call for a newer version of the game. It would seem as though this call is getting answered and rumors of CS2 are starting to float. Here is the answer to Is Counter Strike 2 Real?

There have been rumors of Source 2 for CS:GO. This would mean that the current game of CSGO would be getting new content and basically would be a new game on a new engine. The coding for “Source 2” was found by a Full Stack Dev in England named Aquarius on Twitter.
There have been more reports of code and different changes, even responses from the CSGO development team. A great article at Dexerto explains everything that has been shown thus far.
Then there was a report by Richard Lewis that a Beta Test could be coming as soon as the end of March, 2023.
This has led many to be wondering when could CS2 be coming? What will it look like? Will the maps and guns be the same? Will skins from CSGO transfer over as well?
But is it Real?
The easiest way to answer this is that it seems as though Counter Strike 2 is trending toward being real and in the player’s hands very soon. This has the obvious designation that it has not been announced officially and only potentially leaks.
That being said, when people are able to find certain wording in the code of a game, it is generally a good sign. The only thing would be if the developers are adding something but disguising it as CS2 just to trick their fan base for fun. If Valve were to do this though, fans would surely be very upset.
There is a very good chance that Counter Strike 2 is real. What its name is, when it could be coming out, how much it will cost or just about any other question will have to wait to be answered.
Once the news is announced this piece and others will be updated.
